The Responsible Beverage Service Training Act came into effect in California on July 1, 2022. This act, legislated with the passing of Assembly Bill 1221, requires all on-premise alcohol servers and managers of servers to participate in accredited California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification Training and pass a certification exam to legally serve alcoholic beverages in the state.
